OCTOBER 24 — ACCORDING TO A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, AN EMERGENCY MEETING WAS HELD TODAY TO DISCUSS THE IMMINENT CLOSURE OF THE MAYWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY. ACCORDING TO THE SOURCE, PROVISIONS FOR CLOSURE WERE MADE AT THE LAST BOARD MEETING. AT THE MEETING THIS AFTERNOON, THE BOARD WAS INFORMED THAT THE LIBRARY’S LAST HOPE OF A RESOLUTION FELL THROUGH. NO WORD AS OF YET ON HOW SOON AND/OR HOW LIKELY THE BUILDING WILL CLOSE. MORE AS THIS STORY DEVELOPS. VFP
