Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) is recruiting a Director of Biomedical Informatics. This is a full-time, 12 month, tenure-track faculty appointment. The successful candidate will: a) work with faculty, administration and information technology to develop and sustain the infrastructure required for interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research utilizing bioinformatics and medical informatics; b) develop synergistic research collaborations and educational initiatives with bioinformatics programs in other Loyola University Chicago colleges and other institutions; and c) provide mentorship and assistance to faculty and students requiring the utilization of informatics approaches in their research. In addition, the successful individual is expected to develop and participate in independent academic and scholarly activities. Individuals with a Ph.D., M.D., and/or equivalents at any academic rank are welcome to apply; rank of academic appointment, salary and startup will be commensurate with credentials. The department of academic appointment will depend on the individual’s experience and opportunities within any of the basic science or clinical departments. Research at SSOM is focused in part on the areas of our institutes – the Burn & Shock Trauma, Cardiovascular, Infectious Disease & Immunology, Neuroscience, Oncology and Public Health Institutes – as well as in our programs in Women’s Pelvic Health and Health Services Research.
