There have been reports of shots fired in connection with a fight involving 10-12 teenagers that broke out in an alley west of the Walther Christian Academy athletic fields, located on the 900 block of Chicago Avenue in Melrose Park. According to the school’s principal, Jim Craven, none of the teenagers are Walther Lutheran students.

“We have no idea where they came from,” he said. No staff or students were reportedly injured.

“We immediately went into lock-down. Our kids did what they had practiced and everybody’s safe,” Mr. Craven said.

As of yet, there are no suspects in custody. The incident, which happened less than three hours ago, was confirmed by Maywood police officer Pirsia Allen. However, he said that his department had no further information right now. More as this story develops. VFP
