State Senator Kimberly A. Lightford will host a Town Hall Meeting on the Eisenhower Expressway and CTA Blue Line Projects on Tuesday, April 22, 7PM to 8:30PM, at the Proviso Math and Science Academy Auditorium, 8601 W. Roosevelt Road, Forest Park, IL.
Pete Harmet from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Eva-Dina Delgado from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Rick Kuner from Citizens for Appropriate Transportation (CAT) will brief attendees on the projects and field any questions you may have.
According to a statement released by Mr. Kuner, citizens “will have an opportunity to ask questions about proposals to add two lanes, build right-hand side ramps, build wider bridges, and improve the existing CTA Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line and extend it to Mannheim Road. Additional concerns are neighborhood, air and noise, social, environmental justice, and cost impacts. Mitigation of negative environmental impacts is part of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).”
For more detailed information related to the projects in addition to issue briefs in areas such as High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes, environmental justice and noise pollution, visit CAT’s website here. VFP
