One person is dead after an apparent shooting that happened on Monday, May 26. According to a report by Maywood police, officers responded to reports of shooting at 11:13 PM on the 200 block of South 19th Avenue, where they discovered a man on the front porch of 206 S. 19th Avenue with a gunshot to the head. Javen Hutchins, 35, of Maywood, was immediately taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in currently in custody and no motive for the shooting is apparent. This case is still under investigation. Police are urging anyone with information that may lead to an arrest to call (708) 450-4440. VFP
