ReUse Depot is a store for reusable building materials: each year, the construction industry creates a massive amount of waste and it is our goal to keep good materials from entering the landfill. Everything our store has come from houses that have been taken down and is available to consumers at greatly reduced prices. Our customers include contractors, rehabbers flipping houses, home owners, and salvage junkies.
I am hoping you know of a new graduate who might be a perfect marketing coordinator for us. We need somebody to help get our name out there and bring new people to our store. He/she needs to be able to present a marketing plan to management and be creative enough to find new avenues of exposure for ReUse Depot.
Our new employee should share our passion for helping our planet, and some construction/remodeling experience would be preferable. Tasks for the new position will include all social media (Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter, and any others), as well as posting new inventory on Craigslist and some items will need to go on eBay. Since not all items that come in to our store are “common stock”, this person needs to be able to use common sense to figure out what items need to be posted for sale in other internet markets. As a new company, with all new positions, each role is changing and developing as time goes on. We are writing the policy book as we go, and this position will be more defined as the business evolves, the new employee needs to be flexible, independent, confident and competent.
In addition to the “desk work”, this person will be the FIRST person that customers will see when they walk in the door, a friendly smile is necessary. The work desk doubles as our check out, so this person will need to learn the POS system and be trustworthy enough to handle money for the store. Customer service is everybody’s number one job, and we are often pulled away from projects when a customer needs help so this person needs to be helpful, have knowledge of the store and our products, and be polite to anybody who walks in the door. Also, because we are all expected to fill each other’s jobs, you must be able to lift 70 pounds.
Our website is being built right now. Once it is finished, this person will also be responsible for uploading new items, descriptions, and prices.
Bachelor’s degree required.
General Windows, and Microsoft office knowledge is a must.
This employee will be responsible for our web presence, so proper English skills are an absolute must.
Some Photoshop/graphic design would be helpful.
Spanish speaking would be helpful.
Please send resume and cover letter.
Please pass this email on to whomever might be able to help me out!
Also, I will soon be looking for an assistant manager who will be in charge of my sales floor. He will manage employees, handle customer sales and should have some construction background. Mostly I need somebody smarter than me to help me with the everyday operations around the store.
