Pro-Life Action League’s Images of Aborted Babies Comes to Cicero and Maywood
(July 10, 2014 – Chicago) Abortion ceases to be just another “issue” when the Pro-Life Action League takes to the street with images of aborted babies, as the organization run by Eric Scheidler has been doing for 15 years and will do again, on Wednesday, July 16. The display, starting on Cermak in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood will move west into Cermak and wrap up in Maywood by the Loyola University Hospital campus.

- Negative and positive reactions from passersby
“When we show the victims, abortion comes front-and-center into a community and this gets people talking about it,” explained Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League. “Precisely because abortion is so astoundingly destructive — and has touched so very many lives — nobody wants to talk about it. That silence must be broken, and that’s why we continue to jumpstart these conversations.”
Over an eight day window, from July 11 through July 19, Face the Truth Tour will appear at busy intersections throughout Chicago and the suburbs, with pro-life advocates displaying large posters that accurately depict the graphic reality of abortion, juxtaposed with beautiful pictures of living children, both born and unborn. Included in the 24 stops along the tour are the controversial Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Aurora, downtown Chicago train stations, the Art Institute, and Daley Plaza, Chicago north, west, and south side neighborhoods, the Joliet area, and a selection of northwest, southwest, and far west suburbs.
The complete schedule of communities the Face the Truth Tour will visit, including time and location details, is available athttp://prolifeaction.org/truth/tours.php.
The Face the Truth Tour always meets with some opposition, however Scheidler emphasized that the goal is not to offend or to shock, but rather to raise awareness and change attitudes. “The Face the Truth Tour allows people to confront the horrible injustice of abortion with their own eyes,” he explained. “And when they do, they are more likely to take action to prevent that injustice, even if they resent having to see it.”
One woman who has been a regular participant in the annual Face the Truth Tour remarked that she never looks forward to going out on the street and showing pictures of abortion victims. In fact, she dreads it, and prays for the day that is will no longer be necessary to show people the violent and ugly reality of what abortion does to unborn children.
The Pro-Life Action League’s Face the Truth Tours in Illinois and Indiana have inspired similar initiatives in other states, including Arizona, California, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin, as well as in Washington, DC and Canada.

About the Pro-Life Action League
The Pro-Life Action League was founded by Joe Scheidler in 1980 with the aim of saving babies from abortion through direct action. Not content to await a political or judicial solution to abortion, the League seeks to stop the killing of unborn children right now through all available peaceful means, including public protest, sidewalk counseling, education, youth outreach, and national leadership.
