Man Fatally Struck While Walking on Eisenhower in Maywood June 6

A man has died after being hit by a car the night of June 6 while on a span of Eisenhower Expressway encompassing Maywood. The man had been walking  in traffic, according to the Illinois State Police, who didn’t disclose why he was walking on the highway. The Chicago Tribune first reported on the accident yesterday.

The police say the man was walking on the right lane of eastbound traffic on the I-290 near 9th Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. when he was struck. Authorities hadn’t released his identity at the time of the incident.

After he was struck, the man was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where medical officials pronounced him dead, according to state police, who are still investigating the accident.

They said nobody else was injured and that no citations were issued as a result of the crash. VFP
