BREAKING: Roosevelt Rd. Shutdown, At Least 1 Killed in Maywood Auto Accident

At least one person is dead after a car traveling westbound near 9th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. in Maywood struck a light pole, Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh said. The accident happened today at around 3:50 p.m., he said.

At the time of this report, authorities were in the process of temporarily shutting off access on Roosevelt Rd., from 1st Ave. to 17th Ave., in order to reconstruct the scene of the fatal crash. Bronaugh said an unidentified white male pedestrian was fatally struck . The car’s driver, an unidentified woman, was pried from the vehicle by firefighters.

  1. Drove passed this on my way home from work. Horrible, but I can’t figure out how it happened…. praying for those involved.

  2. My heart aches praying for both family. Had to detour coming out of the Hospital to get home. Praying for those children who witness this, They may need therapy. This has been the talk of the Hospital all day.

  3. This is so sad. My Heart aches hearing this and seeing it on t.v., Horrible to have seen it on sight. Praying for all families and those who witnessed this.
