Maywood Man Charged With Murder After Partner Killed During Oct. 10 Robbery Attempt

A 20-year-old Maywood, arrested on Tuesday for his alleged role in an attempted armed robbery on Oct. 10 in the village, has been charged with murder, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Jerry Greer, pictured left, and Cortez Lloyd, 23, both tried robbing a man on Monday at the corner of 3rd Ave. and Van Buren St., Maywood police say. The intended victim, however, was armed. The man, who police say didn’t have a concealed carry license, shot and killed Lloyd.

So far, the man hasn’t been charged. Greer was charged on Thursday attempted robbery, first degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, the Sun-Times reports.
