Man Murdered in Melrose Park Identified as Aurora Resident, Persons of Interest in Custody

A man who was fatally shot in Melrose Park has been identified as 24-year-old Aurora resident Anthony Scott, according to a Jan. 17 Chicago Tribune report.

Melrose Park police found Scott inside of a home in the 1200 block of Winston Drive on Sunday. He was pronounced dead at 3:17 p.m. Another person was shot as well but survived.

According to Melrose Park police, the incident was not random and, as of Tuesday, was still being investigated. The Tribune reported that police had “a couple people of interest in custody Monday, a police spokesman said.”
