A 16-year-old boy from Melrose Park is dead after a shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in that village, according to a Feb. 20 Chicago Sun-Times report.

According to Melrose Park police, a person of interest has been identified in the shooting death of Julian Hernandez, who police found “bleeding on the street and being treated by citizens” after responding to reports of shots fired at around 4:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of North 17th Ave, the Sun-Times notes.

According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Hernandez died from a gunshot wound to his torso. VFP

  1. Wow! My condolences goes out to the family of Julian Hernandez. I hope and pray that his family will receive justice from the perpetraitor that murdered Hernandez.
