Breaking: Ultra Foods in Forest Park Scheduled to Close

The Ultra Foods located inside of Forest Park Plaza in Forest Park is closing, according to multiple media reports that reference a company statement that was released on Tuesday.

According to a Shaw Media report:

“Other Ultra stores that will close are in Crestwood, Wheaton, Lansing, Chicago Heights, Calumet Park and [Joliet]. Two Ultra stores in Indiana that will close are in Gary and Merrill Point.”

The stores are scheduled to close by June 18. According to the report, Ultra Foods “is part of the Strack & Van Til supermarket chain owned by Central Grocers, a grocery cooperative headquartered in Joliet.”

“Strack & Van Til is based in Highland, Indiana. The company operates stores under the names Strack & Van Til, Ultra Foods, and Town and Country Market.”

  1. Damn! I am at a loss of words. I use to shop at Ultra Foods and stop shopping there, because some of the employees DID NOT had good customer service. Some of their registers are not cleaned and I had to report this to one of the Front End managers.
