Pumpkin Patch Parade Returns on Oct. 14

Maywood Fine Arts is gearing up for its annual Pumpkin Patch Parade, the marquee fundraising event it hosts each fall. The fundraiser, set to take place on Oct. 14, 9 a.m., at the nonprofit’s base of operations, at the corner of Lake and Main St., will once again feature the main event — a 1.5-mile walk through the community that will start at 11 a.m.

This year’s theme is “Be You @ MFA.” According to a statement released by MFA, the annual fundraiser “helps support our mission to provide quality and affordable arts and fitness education to Maywood and the surrounding communities along with a safe space to teach more than 8,800 classes per year.”

This year’s entertainment will include Stairway of the Stars Dancers and Flip, Flop, and Fly Tumblers. Some activities will include a Ninja Warrior Challenge, a pumpkin bounce and obstacle course, among many others.

The Dunk Doctors, a popular acrobatic dunk act founded by Maywood Fine Arts alumni Andrew Cyrus, will return as the fundraiser’s feature performer. VFP

    1. SHARON KING ADAMS: Hello Sharon! To answer your question, yes the village of Maywood does have a downtown area. It’s located on 5th Ave. between Lake St. and Madison St.

  2. Where do you get your pumpkins for your parade? I would like to visit a local pumpkin patch and take a group I work with at Aspire Kids in Hillside. Thanks!!
