There’s a lot to do this week in Proviso Township. Here is just a small sampling of events available for you and the family:

Think community pride with PTMAN

On Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m., at Proviso Baptist Church, 1116 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Proviso Township Ministerial Alliance Network (PTMAN) will hold its monthly breakfast networking meeting. Theme: Spring cleaning. Focus: Community pride, fire and community safety, credit repair and applying for grants/loans for home improvements. Breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. $5 per person donation.

Learn about Medicare fraud

On Saturday, April 13, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, the Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol Program will host a presentation on Medicare fraud. To register, contact Jori Daniels at (708) 343-1847.

Enjoy a circus

On April 11-13, at Triton College, 2001 N. 5th Ave. in River Grove, Triton College will presents its annual circus. Tickets are $6 (no debit or credit cards accepted) and available at the door or at campus store. The circus will take place on Thursday, April 11, 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to the circus, Pancake Breakfast (Culinary Arts) on Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to noon in Room R-221 of the Robert M. Collins Center on Triton’s campus, and the circus begins at 1 p.m. Tickets for the breakfast only are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. A special combination price for breakfast and circus admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Take Back the Night

On Tuesday, April 16, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Triton College (Student Center Mounds), 2000 Fifth Ave. in River Grove, the college will host a Take Back the Night rally to support victims of sexual violence. April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.

Students and community members will gather to support the mission of ending sexual violence during Take Back the Night. The event will include remarks from survivors and victims of sexual violence, as well as information tables, counselors, music and refreshments for attendees.

Revel in a S.T.E.A.M. workshop

On Friday, April 17, at Roosevelt Middle School, 2500 Oak Street in Bellwood, District 88 will host a free S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) workshop for community youth. Come learn something new on the Magical School bus. VFP
