On Sept. 7, researchers with Loyola University Medical Center teamed up with the College of American Pathologists Foundation to offer free cervical and breast cancer screenings to at least 60 women from the west suburbs.

During a panel discussion in Maywood last month, area lawmakers addressed the possible consequences of the state’s recent gambling expansion and legalization of recreational marijuana, with many pointing out the significant increase in funds for mental health and addiction treatment services that will be allocated by the state from here on out.

Former Employees Of Shuttered Westlake Hospital File Labor Lawsuit Against Its Owner

The former employees of the now-shuttered Westlake Hospital,1225 W. Lake St. in Melrose Park, filed a federal class action lawsuit against Pipeline Health, the hospital’s owner, on Sept. 11.
