Just after acknowledging Hispanic Heritage Month during a Sept. 18 regular board meeting, Maywood Police Chief Valdimir Talley announced the promotion of a Hispanic police officer in Maywood to the position of sergeant.

The village of Maywood’s Board of Fire and Police Commissioners recently announced that they’re currently taking applications for the entry level police officers. Starting salary is $42,140.
